Star Citizen information and live updates

Current Star Citizen information: server status, patch notes, known issues, Spectrum, development updates and dependable references.

When the game changes or something suddenly stops working, start with official information. Use the source that matches the question: service status for outages, known issues for tracked problems, patch notes for deployed changes and the Issue Council for reproducible bugs.

A reliable order for checking new information

  • Start with RSI Status when login, matchmaking, the launcher or the Persistent Universe appears unavailable.
  • Read the known-issues article when the service is online but the same error or broken behaviour keeps returning.
  • Read the patch notes when a feature, keybind, mission or balance value behaves differently after an update.
  • Search Spectrum and the Issue Council when the official summaries do not cover the exact problem.
  • Use current community references for faster searches, comparisons and practical experience, then verify high-cost or account decisions.

Patch notes, known issues and the Roadmap answer different questions

Patch notes explain what shipped in a particular build. The known-issues article records problems CIG is already tracking and may include temporary workarounds. The Roadmap shows development work and intended release windows, but planned cards can move as priorities and testing change.

Spectrum adds announcement threads, feedback discussions and direct CIG replies. Ordinary community posts are still player reports, so look for a CIG badge, an official thread or a link back to published notes before treating a claim as confirmed.

How to report a useful bug

Before opening a new Issue Council report, search for the same symptoms and build number. Contributing to an existing report is usually more valuable than splitting evidence across duplicates. Include the game version, location, steps that reproduce the problem and any screenshot, video or log detail that helps another player repeat it.

Performance information needs context

Public Telemetry is useful for broad comparisons, but apparently similar PCs can behave differently because of resolution, location, server state, background software, cooling and graphics settings. Use telemetry to set expectations, then make one change at a time and test in the same place.

How to avoid old Star Citizen information

Check the date, named patch and update notes before following exact prices, shop inventories, mission rewards, keybinds or component values. Broad explanations often survive several patches, while numbers and locations can become wrong overnight. A current tool that labels its data source is safer than an undated screenshot or copied list.
