Star Citizen videos and creator guides
Official video series and selected community guides for learning gameplay, ships and current features.
Video is most useful when seeing the full process matters more than reading a list of steps. Check the publication date, stated game version and recent comments before relying on a tutorial for the live game.

Match the video to the question
Official videos are strongest for feature intent, development explanation and patch presentation. Community tutorials are strongest when you need to watch a full route, cockpit workflow, race line or physical handling of cargo and tools. Databases remain faster for a price, component, blueprint or shop search.
Check the date before copying a route or loadout
A clear older guide can still teach flying, positioning or teamwork, but exact shops, keybinds, mission payouts, component values and resource locations may have changed. Look for a current patch number in the title or description and read recent comments for differences found by viewers.
Useful signs of a current guide
- It names the LIVE patch or was updated after the latest deployment.
- It links to the source of prices, locations, components or blueprint data.
- It separates confirmed live mechanics from concepts and Roadmap plans.
- It corrects outdated information in the description or a pinned comment.
- The creator shows the full process rather than only the successful final result.
Videos that remain useful for longer
Basic camera control, communication, crew discipline, approach planning and the reasoning behind a workflow often last longer than exact numbers. A guide that explains why a decision is made is easier to adapt after a patch than one that only gives a list of coordinates and prices.
Use written tools alongside video
Keep the relevant database or calculator open while following a guide. The video shows the sequence; the current tool confirms the live ship, item, blueprint, value or destination. This is especially important for mining, cargo, crafting and component builds.
Official development videos and live gameplay
Inside Star Citizen and Star Citizen Live explain development and design, but a feature shown during development may change before reaching LIVE. For current gameplay, pair the video with the release notes and a guide recorded on the present build.
Should an old flight tutorial be removed?
Not always. Core technique can remain useful, but the guide should not be treated as current when the controls, flight model or ship have changed.
What should I check before following a shopping guide?
Confirm the current patch, shop inventory and item value with a maintained finder or database before travelling or spending credits.
Where can I ask questions after watching a guide?
Use the creator’s current community where available, or the official Spectrum help and feedback areas linked from Information and Help.
