Star Citizen crafting and engineering
A Star Citizen crafting guide to current blueprints, materials, fabrication, ship systems, repair and specialist databases.
Crafting connects missions, mining, salvage, blueprints and equipment. Engineering adds another layer inside ships, where component condition, power distribution, damage and repairs affect the crew.

Official Crafting Guide
CIG’s current overview of blueprints, resources and item fabrication introduced with Alpha 4.7.
SC Crafter
Search Star Citizen crafting recipes, materials and blueprint information in a focused crafting database.
SC Craft Tools
Track blueprints and filter crafting information by missions, contractors, resources and star systems.
SC Crafting Lab
Blueprints, ships, components, resources, missions, equipment and a rock-cracker calculator.
Star-Crafting
Search blueprint names, materials and sources for Star Citizen crafting. Star-Crafting currently labels its data as patch 4.6.0, so some information may not reflect newer crafting changes.
SCMDB
Mission and contractor data for finding activities that award useful blueprints or resources.
Citizen Starter Guide Blueprint Finder
Find crafting blueprints, mission sources, required materials and reputation routes, with a mining cart for planning resource collection.

Official Engineering Guide
Current ship engineering, component health, repair, fires, fuses and resource-network guidance.
SC DataHub
Patch-labelled blueprints, missions, items, components and resource information for cross-checking a plan.
CornerStone Item Finder
Locate tools, fuses, components and equipment needed to support crafting or ship engineering.
Star Citizen crafting guide: start with the blueprint
Do not collect materials blindly. Start with the item, confirm the blueprint and then work backwards through the required resources and source. Blueprints can come from missions, reputation and specific activities, so the missing step may be progression rather than another mining trip.
Blueprint rewards added in Alpha 4.9
Alpha 4.9 introduced blueprint rewards through the Recco Battaglia mission progression, alongside unique ship variants and equipment. That makes current mission and contractor data more important than older crafting lists written before those rewards existed.
A practical fabrication plan
- Confirm the blueprint is owned and available in the current live build.
- List each material and separate what can be mined, salvaged, looted, bought or earned through missions.
- Use a current database to identify the shortest reliable source rather than farming everything the same way.
- Keep rare materials separate from ordinary sale cargo so they are not sold by habit.
- Check the finished item, quality and resource cost before committing scarce materials.
Mining and salvage feed the same plan differently
Mining is strongest when the blueprint needs extractable resources and the crew can refine or transport them efficiently. Salvaging can provide recovered material and components while also producing items worth keeping directly. Use the blueprint first to decide which career is actually useful.
Engineering is a crew workflow
Engineering terminals, component health, power management, fires and repairs are easier when the crew agrees who watches each system. Carry appropriate repair tools, RMC canisters, fuses and extinguishers, and keep access routes clear. A spare component is only useful when the crew can reach and replace the damaged one.
Separate live mechanics from future plans
Older design posts and Roadmap entries can describe a broader intended system than the one currently playable. Use the current official gameplay guides and patch-labelled databases for live decisions, then treat future-facing material as development context.
Where should I start with crafting?
Choose one useful item, confirm its blueprint and build a material list. Learning one complete chain is more useful than collecting random resources.
Why can a recipe database disagree with another?
The tools may use different game builds or update schedules. Prefer the one that labels the current patch and compare important materials with another maintained source.
What should an engineering crew carry?
Current official guidance highlights repair tools, RMC canisters, fuses and extinguishers. The exact kit depends on the ship and operation.
